So many games were showcased at rAge 2014; however, not all of the code at the event was up to scratch. While some games seemed slightly buggy… one stand did not fail to deliver one title that I myself have been personally looking forward to since its announcement. That game would be Dying Light. The stand that showcased Dying Light in all of its splendor was the one and only Xbox One stand.
The Xbox team had a great showing at rAge 2014 this year and quite honestly got the crowd excited for the Xbox One as well as the many games featured on the stand.
What made it different from the rest?
I had the opportunity to check out Dying Light on a few of the stands; however, there were occasions where things would freeze up, machines would overheat and all the general annoyances of what happens at a major gaming expo. However, every time I experienced Dying Light at the Xbox stand, the game always ran perfectly. Furthermore, Dying Light feels more at home on the Xbox One that any other console. This was due to the Xbox One’s rather killer control as well as the consoles ability to showcase the game in all of its glory.
What is Dying Light?
Dying Light is an action survival horror game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, you roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help you defeat the hordes of mindless, flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, hunter becomes prey as the infected grow in strength and aggression – but even more lethal are the nocturnal, inhuman predators that leave their hives to feed. You will need to make use of all your skills and any available means to survive till dawn. Need more info? Check out the website.
Were there any other highlights?
Hell yeah! The team from Xbox managed to get in some code for Sunset Overdrive as well as Forza Horizon 2, The Evil Within and Alien: Isolation. Also gracing the stand was FIFA 15, Ryse: Son of Rome and Assassin’s Creed Unity. All of the games on the stand looked hella good, which made the experience that much better.
Overall, the team on the Xbox stand did a great job at showcasing the above mentioned games on the stand. Be sure to check out Dying Light when it hits Xbox One as well as Forza Horizon 2 and the rather epic Sunset Overdrive. Also don’t miss out on Evolve!!!
The Overlord, the master, the one who tries to get things done… I think they call it the “Editor-in-Chief”… I may even be cooler than Master Chief, but that remains to be questioned.
